Financial Information

Jefferson Christian Academy (JCA) endeavors to offer Christian education at the lowest possible cost. JCA works with each family to find all available funding resources. We will make every effort to accommodate any student who is committed to securing a Christ-centered education. We have adopted a basic flat rate for tuition, cafeteria, and dormitory. The fees listed below do not include required expenses for class dues, science labs, art class, uniforms, and extra transportation fees. See the handbook for complete details. Discounts

New students who have not previously attended JCA receive a discount of $200 per month. Returning students receive the following discounts:

Sophomores 10%, Juniors 15%, Seniors 17%.

There is a 5% discount on tuition, room, and board when the entire semester is paid in advance (cash or check). When two or more students from one family are enrolled, a 5% discount will be deducted from the 2nd student's tuition, room, and board. The third student will also receive a 5% discount on tuition, room, and board. Discounts do not apply to additional fees such as registration fee, laundry fee, etc.

Work Opportunities

In Jefferson Christian Academy's philosophy, the work program is a vital part of total Christian education. Dorm students will work a minimum of 40 hours per month; village students will work a minimum of 20 hours per month. Earnings are applied to their account to help offset tuition and other charges. All hours worked are applied as tuition credit. It is imperative that that the student work the full work hours to get the full work credit. Scholarships

Jefferson Christian Academy endeavors to provide financial incentives and assistance to the students who demonstrate the need. We continually strive to provide a variety of means for assistance to meet the needs of our students. Scholarship opportunities are available to students based upon grade point average and overall academic standing. Please contact the office for an application and further details. Please note that not all scholarships are awarded each year.

  1. Work Scholarship Opportunities - In Jefferson Christian Academy's philosophy, the work Scholarship program is a vital part of total Christian education. Dorm students can work a minimum of 40 hours per month; village students can work a minimum of 20 hours per month for the full work scholarship. Work scholarships are applied to their account to help offset tuition and other charges. All hours worked are applied as tuition credit.   2. Jack Hiser Memorial Scholarship - The JCA Alumni Association awards this scholarship each year during the annual alumni weekend.
  3. Conference-sponsored Summer Work Scholarship - JCA will award a matching scholarship of 50% of the cash received from a Seventh-day Adventist youth camp or Conference-sponsored summer work program.
  4. Academy Days Awards - All students eighth grade and above, who attend the annual JCA Academy Days open house receive a $250 scholarship. In addition, based on the academic competitions held during the event, scholarships ranging from $100 to $1000 are awarded.
  5. Valedictorian/Salutatorian Awards - Students graduating as valedictorian from Seventh-day Adventist junior academies and elementary schools qualify for a $500 scholarship. Where there are 10 or more students in a graduating class, the valedictorian and the salutatorian may each receive a $500 scholarship.
  6. $1000 Special Achievement Awards - Based upon three factors (a) academic excellence, (b) outstanding citizenship, and (c) special talents a number of $1000 scholarships are awarded annually. Students with special abilities in technology, music, the arts, sports, entrepreneurship, etc. are encouraged to apply. [Apply early for best chances to win one of these $1000 scholarships!]

Scholarships are not transferable, and are not redeemable in cash. All scholarships and awards are applied to tuition costs, and are credited to students accounts equally distributed over the ten months of the school year for which they are awarded.



ESL Financial Information
